Top 7 Organic Produce Delivery Providers in Singapore

A lot of things have happened since the last update. To be honest, N & I chose not to keep to a 100% raw vegan diet for two reasons. One is that socially, it makes things very difficult when we dine out with our loved ones (of course, no longer an issue with Covid-19 induced circuit breaker) but we find that it created a lot of stress for our friends when deciding where to eat or what to cook for us. And two, perhaps my body has always been a ‘cold’ constitution from TCM point of view, so prolonged raw, vegan diet made me feel more tired over the very long term. However, we are still committed to staying healthy so I would say we are on a 80% vegetarian, organic/natural and as little processed foods diet! This has been the best balance for us both physically and mentally (otherwise, I become stressed trying to be a purist).  During this Circuit Breaker period at home, we have been on a hunt for fresh organic produce …

Top 23 Vegetarian Restaurants in Singapore (you won’t realize there is no meat!)

Because of my mum’s cancer journey, I have learnt to become very picky about her food if she wanted to eat out. It is pretty hard to find fully organic restaurants in Singapore, but here are some of our top picks that try to be as clean and healthy as possible while retaining the yummy taste! 1) Afterglow Afterglow – Probably the one and only organic cafe focused on RAW food. Food is exquisitely made with intricate flavours. Good as a treat but the prices are too steep for everyday dining. We pay for effort as it does take a lot of effort to take raw food, let alone yummy raw food. My favourites – Deconstructed Sushi Bowl, Raw Lasagna and Pink Soy Latte Address: 24 Keong Saik Rd, Singapore 089131 Phone: 6224 8921 2) Real Food One of the original pioneers of real, organic, no MSG, vegan food in Singapore, Real Food is doing well with 3 outlets in Novena, Orchard Central (previously Killiney), South Beach and Central. They also 2 outlets in Malaysia! 3) Elemen One of …

Detox Retreat @ The LifeCo Phuket

It has been almost 2 years since my last proper juice fast so N and I decided to head to Phuket to do a 3 day detox! The LifeCo Phuket is located around a lake, and is the newest kid on the block in Phuket to offer most natural solutions to fight against ageing and diseases. I decided to try out the LifeCo Phuket because I agree with their 360 degrees holistic approach together with healthy nutrition, anti-ageing and well-being therapies, prevention treatments for chronic diseases and cancer as well as pampering and beauty treatments alongside with spiritual therapies, all in the same complex. I love that they also have doctors and nurses – look forward to them giving the most updated and holistic advice for our health. The LifeCo may be new in Phuket, but their first outlet in Turkey has been opened for more than 10 years. I was quite excited to know that celebrities fly themselves to The LifeCo in Turkey just to detox! We were warmly welcomed at the airport on …

3 Days Juice Fast with Queen’s Greens

Since it has been a while since my last 18 days vegetables juice fast, we decided to embark on a 3 days juice fast post CNY for a detox! There are so many cold-press juicing companies in town now but we decided to try Queen’s Greens given their affordable prices and because Queen’s Greens support local sustainable farmers; the pulp from the juicing is returned to soil to fallow, allowing for lower carbon footprint. Kelly, the founder of Queen’s Greens, also allows for high degree of customization (nut milk or without, fully organic or half organic, types of juices etc). She also differentiates her juices by working closely with clinic/nutritionist to provide juice for people with conditions to meet nutritional needs or help in healing of body. Kelly, founder of Queen’s Greens, explains her motivation behind starting this juicing business: “A friend once confided that in his late teenage years, he had unexplained boils that ‘attack’ his entire face which makes his handsome face then almost unbearable to look. He would lock himself up in his room and is inconsolable. The only thing …

Real Food

Real Food is arguably the leader of organic, vegetarian food in Singapore. They started in a humble space in Central, Clark Quay a couple of years ago even before juicing became a fad, and have expanded to 4 outlets in Singapore and Malaysia. Real Food café is free from processed ingredients (food grade or otherwise), artificial preservatives and Trans-fat. Real Food is a restaurant we frequent, and Eatprayflying is privileged to able to speak to Jeeyang, one of the founders who started Real Food to understand more about Real Food’s vision and journey. One reason why I support Real Food is because they support ethical farming and ethical food preparation which really stands out in the food industry. Real Food sources mainly from organic farmers and even if the farmers do not have enough scale to pay for organic certification, the partners personally visit the farms to ensure the food is REALly (pun intended :P) free from pesticides and toxic farming ingredients. They also take pains to ensure their food is as healthy as possible – the oils …

Zenxin Organic Park @ Malaysia

Triggered by this opinion article published by Straits Times, “Is organic food really free from pesticides?”, we decided to pay Zenxin Organic Park in Johor, Malaysia, a visit. Since we buy so much organic produce from Zenxin in Singapore, we wanted to learn – what makes a farm organic, if the produce are really free from pesticides and why is organic produce good for us? Before embarking on the farm tour details, I wanted to learn – what makes a farm an organic farm?
