Vitamin C and Cancer – Research

“Many studies have been made over the years with the following results shown: Treatment with high-dose vitamin C slowed the growth and spread of prostate, pancreatic, liver, colon, malignant mesothelioma, neuroblastoma, and other types of cancer cells. Combining high-dose vitamin C with certain types of chemotherapy may be more effective than chemotherapy alone: Ascorbic acid with arsenic trioxide may be more effective in ovarian cancer cells. Ascorbic acid with gemcitabine may be more effective in pancreatic cancer cells. Ascorbic acid with gemcitabine and epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) may be more effective in malignant mesothelioma cells. Another laboratory study suggested that combining high-dose vitamin C with radiation therapy killed more glioblastoma multiforme cells than radiation therapy alone. Additionally the studies found that patients who received IV vitamin C had better quality of life and fewer side effects than those who did not.” — The Demster Clinic, Toronto Source: http://www.thedempsterclinic.com I get a lot of enquiries on Vitamin C and cancer from my previous entry on my Vitamin C IV drip experience. As such, I decided to share a bit about my summarized research on Vitamin C and cancer and why I was willing to let my mum (and myself – just for health …

Getting rid of Chlorine exposure in your showers!

Following my research on the potential ills of over-chlorination in our drinking water, I became very curious about how much chlorine we absorb during our showers. Apparently, we absorb more chlorine during a 10-minute shower than by drinking 8 glasses of tap water. (1) Most substances applied on skins can be absorbed into our blood streams via our porous skin within minutes, not to mention our skin is our largest organ and is fully soaking in chlorinated water! This video shows the speed at which chlorine can be absorbed into our blood stream: Video: See how quickly chlorine is absorbed into our bodies through the skin. The focus on chlorinating water has been to eliminate pathogens, and with good reason. According to a study conducted by the Natural Resources Defense Council, more than 120 million people (about 50% of the population) may get unsafe water  for consumption. Hence, chlorination of drinking water significantly reduced mortality rates associated with waterborne pathogen. However, research is starting to reveal the risks of over-chlorination. For example, some have claimed that a substantial …

Vitamin C (Intravenous) – Cancer Treatments

Similar to what you are probably thinking now, I was highly skeptical that high dose intravenous (IV) Vitamin C could reverse cancer. We eat food with vitamin C everyday in our diets and supplements. If Vitamin C were so good, it would have prevented cancer from developing in the first place, right? And hospitals around the world should be using this method by now! But I decided to keep an open mind to research in scientific and medical papers on how Vitamin C works, and I am glad I did because I discovered from the National Cancer Institute that: “Vitamin C has been studied as a treatment for patients with cancer since the 1970s. A Scottish surgeon named Ewan Cameron worked with Nobel Prize-winning chemist Linus Pauling to study the possible benefits of vitamin C therapy in clinical trials of cancer patients in the late 1970s and early 1980’s.” “Laboratory studies have shown the following: Treatment with high-dose vitamin C slowed the growth and spread of prostate, pancreatic, liver, colon, malignant mesothelioma, and other types of cancer cells. Combining …
