This was another recommendation by BK Asiacity, and we had You Yen @ Hua Hin for lunch before driving back to Bangkok to catch our flight home. You Yen was much less premium priced than Let’s Sea, even though it offers the same brilliant sea view. You Yen is a tiffany-blue colonial mansion, with its seating area expanded into the massive backyard. You Yen is a popular restaurant serving Thai cuisine, with many tables filled when we reached at an offpeak timing of 2pm.
My favorite dish was the Deep-fried Seabass with Spicy Lemongrass Salad (470 baht). The fresh fish was fried till very crispy, and went very well with the spicy lemon sauce. Highly recommended.
Next dish we enjoyed was the Stir Fried Kale with Crispy Pork (105 baht). Crunchy vegetables with sweet sauce from the pork.
We also had the Roasted Pork Rib (150 baht), which had a much softer texture than expected. After roasting, they cooked the dish with vegetables and noodles. An ok disk for us.
Tom Yum Kung (160 baht) was authentic Thai tasting with no toning down for foreigners – spicy and sour enough!
The Pan Fried Oysters (210 baht) was a dish almost exclusive for N as I do not enjoy oysters, which was quite nice but it was more sticky than crispy.
Overall, I am sure the food quality is ok given Youyen is such a popular restaurant. N was probably unfortunate with the oysters only. Still a good value restaurant with a brilliant sea view and breeze!
