Getting rid of Chlorine exposure in your showers!
Following my research on the potential ills of over-chlorination in our drinking water, I became very curious about how much chlorine we absorb during our showers. Apparently, we absorb more chlorine during a 10-minute shower than by drinking 8 glasses of tap water. (1) Most substances applied on skins can be absorbed into our blood streams via our porous skin within minutes, not to mention our skin is our largest organ and is fully soaking in chlorinated water! The focus on chlorinating water has been to eliminate pathogens, and with good reason. According to a study conducted by the Natural Resources Defense Council, more than 120 million people (about 50% of the population) may get unsafe water for consumption.
